Overall Functions
The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate servicing records for mortgage loans held in FBT. This person is also responsible for balancing the loan servicing portfolio. In addition to the servicing of mortgage loans, this person is responsible for knowing the bank’s products and services and serves as backup to the Mortgage Loan Servicing Manager.
This person should have a high school diploma plus one year of post high school education and a minimum of two years of previous bank experience or the equivalent. Strict adherence to details is required. A good knowledge of bank loan procedures and accounting procedures is desired. This person must have good communication skills with a professional demeanor and a willingness to work with all company personnel.
1. Process Mortgage Servicing loans according to procedure. Duties include but are not limited to input of appropriate loan information and all output and reporting functions.

2. Answer loan customer inquiries and work with personnel from FBT charters concerning but not limited to payments and taxes, while maintaining a professional and friendly manner at all times.
3. File maintain Mortgage Servicing loans including but not limited to payment reversals and servicing records.

4. Process paid Real Estate files in adherence to FBT retention policy.

5. Balance daily and month-end Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), Fannie Mae, and SDHDA files.

6. Balance all loan totals to the general ledger at the end of each day. Remit to FHLB daily.

7. Create FASB records on serviced mortgage loans.

8. Monitor and respond to requests received in the Loan Servicing shared inbox as well as Synapsis Service Events.

9. Act as the FoxTrot script writer for the loan departments.

10. Aid in the collection of past-due consumer loans, mortgage loans, and DDA accounts according to set procedures.

11. Assist in training any new staff and answer their questions within the department as requested by the manager.

12. Act as back-up for the Mortgage Servicing Department as needed. Assist the Loan Servicing Manager with various projects and daily duties.

13. Complete assigned projects as designated by the manager.

14. Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.

15. Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in compliance training when required.
