easyJAMS FAQs

Rewards and Qualifications

  1. Is there a one-time iTunes® Sign-Up Bonus for this account?

    • Yes! You will receive a $25 iTunes reward after opening the account or switching from another checking account. Just purchase downloads at the iTunes Store using your First Bank & Trust Visa Debit card within 60 days of account opening, and your easyJAMS Checking account will be credited for the amount of your purchase(s) up to $25 at the end of the statement cycle – with no effort on your part! You’ll receive an email confirming your sign-up bonus availability.
  2. What are the rewards for easyJAMS Checking when the two qualifications are met?

    • Each cycle in which you meet the two (2) simple qualifications:
      • You will receive a $5.00 iTunes reward. Just purchase downloads at the iTunes Store using your First Bank & Trust Visa Debit card, and your easyJAMS Checking account will be credited for the amount of your purchase(s) up to $5 at the end of the statement cycle. (No receipts needed.)
      • In addition, when you qualify, unlimited worldwide ATM fees will be refunded to your account at the end of the statement cycle. (No receipts needed.)
    • If you do not meet all of the qualifications during one qualification cycle1, you will not receive the iTunes reward and the ATM fees will not be refunded for that cycle.
  3. What do I need to do each qualification cycle1 to receive these rewards?

    • Make ten (10) purchases with our Visa Debit card. (Purchases must be posted, not pending. ATM transactions excluded.)
    • Enroll in Online Statements to receive your statements electronically. You can save Online Statements to your computer and view them whenever you like.
  4. Do iTunes rewards expire, and if so, when?

    • Yes. Your $5 iTunes rewards expire 30 days from the end of the statement cycle1 in which they were earned. You will receive an email confirming your awards availability and the expiration date.
    • Your $25 iTunes Sign-Up Bonus expires 60 days from the date we open your new easyJAMS Checking account. You’ll receive an email confirming your sign-up bonus availability and the expiration date.
  5. What happens to the iTunes rewards after the expiration date?

    • iTunes rewards are unavailable for redemption after their expiration date. You must use them or, unfortunately, lose them.
  6. How do I make my iTunes purchases?

    • You must use your First Bank & Trust Visa Debit card associated with your easyJAMS account to purchase your downloads online at the iTunes Store. We will credit your easyJAMS account on the last day of your statement cycle1 if you have available download credits. (Available download credits would have been earned in the previous qualification cycle.)
  7. Must I use my $5 iTunes reward (or $25 Sign-Up Bonus) toward only one purchase at the iTunes Store?

    • No! Feel free to make multiple purchases at the store to use your reward. Example: If a $5 credit is earned and you make a $1.99 iTunes purchase, then a remaining credit of $3.01 will be available until the expiration date for that reward.
  8. How often must the qualifications be met for me to earn my easyJAMS Checking rewards?

    • The qualifications must be met each qualification cycle1.
  9. What happens if I do not meet the qualifications for easyJAMS Checking rewards?

    • You will not receive the rewards; however, your checking account is still free and you can start over next cycle1 to earn the rewards.
  10. If I meet the qualifications, when will I receive my rewards?

    • In the statement cycle after you qualify, just purchase downloads at the iTunes Store using your First Bank & Trust Visa Debit card, and your easyJAMS Checking account will be credited for the amount of your purchase(s) up to $5 at the end of that statement cycle1.
    • Unlimited ATM fees will be refunded to your account at the end of your statement cycle.
  11. If I use another financial institution’s ATM and pay a fee, when will I get my refunds?

    • If the qualifications are met, unlimited ATM fees will be refunded to your account at the end of the statement cycle1 in which the ATM fees were charged.
  12. Do I have to do anything in order to receive my ATM fee refunds?

    • No. Simply meet the qualifications for that cycle1 and we’ll do the rest. No need to save receipts.
  13. How will I know that I have qualified for my rewards at the end of each statement cycle1?

    • On the last day of the statement cycle, you will receive an email stating whether or not your account qualified for the rewards and why.
    • In addition, you can log into Online Banking to review your account activity and confirm whether or not you have met the account qualifications.
  14. Are fees refunded on ATMs used internationally?

    • Yes, all ATM fees are refunded if the qualifications are met within that qualification cycle1.
  15. If my account balance goes negative, will I still be able to qualify for my rewards during that qualification cycle1?

    • Yes, as long as the qualifications are met. Also, while you would still receive ATM Fee refunds for meeting the qualifications, they may be applied towards any negative balances, NSF returned item fees, or overdraft item fees. Therefore, fees could reduce earnings.
  16. If I fail to meet the qualifications during this cycle1, can I still have a chance to qualify during the next cycle?

    • Yes, of course!
  17. What if my new Visa® Debit card doesn’t arrive until late in the cycle1 and I do not have time to earn my first month’s rewards?

    • Don’t worry! We waive the qualification requirements for your first qualification cycle, so you will earn rewards even if you receive your Visa Debit card late in the first cycle.
  18. If I miss my qualifications by only one debit transaction, can I call in to get my $5.00 in iTunes and ATM fee refunds?

    • Sorry – rewards must be earned each qualification cycle1. Exceptions cannot be provided.
  19. Are there any monthly service fees for an easyJAMS account?

    • No. There are no monthly service fees on our easyJAMS Checking accounts. Other fees may apply based on your account activity and other services you request. These fees may include paper statement fees, account research assistance, replacement card fees, NSF returned item fees, overdraft item fees and stop payment fees. We will provide you with a detailed fee schedule when we open your account. Please review it carefully before using your account.

Debit Card Transactions

    • Qualifying transactions include in-store, online and over the phone purchases.
  3. What is a “settled transaction”?

  4. May I “carry forward” Visa Debit purchases in excess of the required number to the next qualification cycle1?

    • No, each qualification cycle you must meet both account qualifications.
  5. Will debit card purchases from my old account count towards meeting the qualifications for the first cycle1 on my easyJAMS Checking account?

    • No, but we will waive the qualification requirements for the first qualification cycle anyway, so you’ll earn rewards in your first qualification cycle even if you don’t meet the qualifications.
  6. I currently have an account at First Bank & Trust and receive Dream Points Rewards for using my debit card. If I convert my account to an easyJAMS Checking account, will I still receive Dream Points?

  5. What if I need a printed copy of my statement and/or check image?

    • You can print a statement from your computer. Additionally, the bank keeps records of all statements and checks as required by state and federal laws. You may request these in person or by phone for a fee.
  6. What if I change my email address?

    • You must notify the bank when your email address changes so we can deliver your notification of your statement availability and other important disclosures. Failure to notify the bank of your new email address may result in you not meeting the monthly qualifications. You may update your email address at any time in online banking.
