Can consumer deposit account holders get a temporary Instant Debit Card?
Yes, a consumer cardholder or authorized signer can get a temporary card at any participating First Bank & Trust location.
Instant debit cards are not available for business deposit account holders.
Do I need to activate my temporary Instant Debit Card and select a PIN before I use it?
Your card will be activated for you and will be ready to use within one hour after leaving the bank. A personal identification number (PIN) will be provided to you with your Instant Debit Card.
Can I start using my card right away?
Your card will be ready to use within one hour after leaving the bank and may be used anywhere Visa® Debit cards are accepted.
How can I change my PIN?
Please use the PIN that was provided with your temporary card until you have received your personalized card. To change your PIN after you have received your personalized card, call 800.290.7893 and follow the prompts. Have your personalized card present when calling to change your PIN.
Can I use my temporary card to pay bills?
Yes, you can use your temporary card to pay bills. If you use your card to pay a bill with a merchant where your card number and expiration date are saved, please ensure that you update the expiration date when you receive and activate your personalized card. Once you activate your personalized card, your temporary card will no longer work.
Why is the Instant Debit Card not personalized with my name?
The Instant Debit Card is temporary and specially prepared for First Bank & Trust customers to provide near immediate access to the money in your account.
Is my card safe to use without my name on the front?
Yes, your card can be used anywhere Visa Debit cards are accepted. If you have issues using your card, call us at 800.843.1552.
When should I expect to receive my personalized card?
Your personalized card should arrive in the mail within 7–10 business days. Please activate your personalized card as soon as you receive it and destroy your temporary card. Your temporary card will be active for only 60 days.
